The Mater Dei PTA is an organization that seeks to unify parents and faculty to work together for the spiritual, academic, social, artistic and athletic advancement of our students.
All parents/guardians of Mater Dei students are members of the Mater Dei PTA. The PTA is governed by the by-laws of the Trenton Diocesan Council of Parent Teacher Associations.
Here at Mater Dei we encourage all parents/guardians to become actively involved in our PTA. We have several opportunities throughout the year for parents to participate in activities, and we welcome new ideas and suggestions.
We run several major fundraisers each year. For example, in the Fall we hold a Holiday Super 50/50 Raffle. The winning ticket is chosen Thanksgiving Weekend at either our home football game or the Powder Puff game held the day before Thanksgiving.
Our largest fundraiser is the Annual Fashion Show and Gift Auction which is held in March. Students participate by helping to plan and coordinate the event. The night of the Fashion Show students are also chosen to model and hostess.
Throughout the course of the school year we provide refreshments for various functions, for example, Back to School Night, Open House, and the students’ Academic Awards Breakfast, to name a few. The PTA awards a yearly $500 Mater Dei tuition scholarship and supports various school activities and events.
